Saturday Shorts – Writing

This photo features a long road, but it is short on the truth of what you will find in this post. Although I live in the land of saguaros and sunshine, this post features short lines, not the Sonoran Desert’s year-round short hem lines. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Writing is the topic of my fourth edition of Saturday Shorts. ๐Ÿ“

โ€œWriting is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose, or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation.โ€

Graham Greene
Thank you for visiting. I hope you are well and are finding time to do what sparks your creativity. ๐Ÿ’— Michele

    1. Writing asks a lot from us, especially if we choose to share our writing, but for those of us who accept the challenge, the rewards, like connecting with other writers and showing vulnerability, are worth the effort.
      Thank you. ๐Ÿ™ Happy writing!

Itโ€™s definitely a lot of work! But we are in this together, we need each other lol! Only a writer understands another writer!

Iโ€™ve been to Arizona once. I remember flying over a red desert landscape and then we went over a mountain range then it opened up to complete city urban environment. Which was Phoenix.

I did a little work in Yuma which was pretty crazy!

No maโ€™am.. I saw the Colorado River, a gambling casino, Cabelaโ€™s in Glendale and we drove out to San Diego for a day through those crazy miles of rocks!

  2. I loved the writing on the learning of new words and sounds! I am fascinated by how the tone of voice, accent, or spelling affect the way a word changes meaning. I see I am not alone in my musing either. ๐Ÿ™‚

My mother being from Pakistan, I say my ‘A’s’ differently, which sometimes leads to amusing confusion over such words as ‘tomato’, ‘can’t, and ‘ranch’.

    1. We are in good word company, you and I. ๐Ÿ’•

I can understand how A’s pronounced differently can lead to amusing confusion. ๐Ÿ˜† It is amazing how many different dialects there are, just in the U.S.

Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your weekend. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Why thank you! A post that started with a photo of some power-packed legs. haha There are so many topics we can write about, when it comes to writing and words, the building blocks of our craft. I should do a writing post a few times per year.

Thank you for reading and sharing your always appreciated thoughts. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. Abubaker, thank you for stopping by. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed my “Saturday Shorts” post. I post every Saturday, either a poem or short story. Occasionally, I post during the week too. These short poems are a bit different than my norm, but they are fun to write and create.

    1. Absolutely! I have always loved the simplicity of writing. Meaning, we need very few tools to create with writing and yet, words on a piece of paper (or screen) can yield tremendous healing, and power to change (minds, hearts, and lives).

      1. Yes, I am happy that we connect here through what is close to our hearts. The fine art of poetry defines this bond. Itโ€™s a pleasure knowing you too, my soul sister across the aether. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•

  3. Your article is very inspiring, Michele. I think it was Confucius who once said: “Even the longest way begins with a first step.”
If someone hasn’t been creative before, it’s never too late to start.
Graham Greene’s quote is so true.
Great words to think about. Many Thanks, Michele!
    I wish you all the bestโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€
