is a purposeful life-long journey,
and one I commend,
but I just want to find a porpoise
who can teach me how to click and spin,
and how to play with wild abandon,
and how to hold my breathe
while diving to deep depths.
With a sense of purpose, my newfound porpoise
and I would glide out to sea and never be seen again.
Until I find my porpoise and learn how to grow a dorsal fin,
in our sea of purpose-driven humanity, I will continue to swim.

Make a splash, swimmers! π
The adorable porpoise face in my featured found photo motivated me to research organizations that protect aquatic friends, like her or him. π I found two nonprofits and made a donation, inspired by this porpoise with a most adorable grin. Enjoy some laughs today. π Michele

I am so happy to read your comment. It did the same for me. Writing these silly lines made me laugh and then made me think about these amazing animals who need our protection. π I have seen them (dolphins) in their native habit, swimming, spinning, playing… truly a sight to see.

They come across as happy creatures. Their synchronized swims or dives, seem happy, energetic, and cooperative. This leaves the spectator in awe of them π

The dolphin doesnβt have awesome hair…

As in a human who does?
I suppose it serves no purpose for the porpoise.

They are the cutest. Are porpoises the same as dolphins? And well done on supporting them!

Aren’t they? I know there are differences in their appearances, but I am not sure about their behavior. We love both, don’t we? π¬π Thank you, it was a modest donation, but every bit helps. π

A dolphin who made a whistling sound like a birdie told me that to have a porpoise-ful demeanor, I needed a melon head for sonar. So far I’ve only found a cantaloupe with seeds to plant on land.

Beyond any utilitarian purposes – I like the place these verses take us – deep in the sea, swimming in abandon. Lovely.

Thank you so much, Walt. Great last name! Those porpoise-full lines made me laugh. Thank you for noticing. π How cool that you were able to swim with the dolphins! I was fortunate enough to watch a pod of dolphins off the coast of Maui. It took a few hours of searching and determination by the boat captain, but she found them! We were all so grateful for her determination! π¬ Thank you for the visit.
