Lovers consuming Love

A reminder
to pause and shop
for tokens of affection
a redundant expectation ~
  for
hearts held in a lover’s grip
hearts that pump passion with each ruby drip

A fiery connection
sparked by a cosmic flame
igniting an attraction
guiding its own fate ~
  for
lovers pulsating in a current of love ordained
lovers oblivious to a manufactured date of love manmade

A thump-thump
distinctly two now one
a harmonious duet
echoing into the infinite ~
  for
travelers who shared a candle in the dark, who now blaze like the sun
travelers who transcend time and space, sparking stars, soon born

A love exchanging
energy with the stars
cannot be duplicated
on a folded paper card ~
  for
entwined souls who dance under the Milky Way and play with carefree abandon
entwined souls who passionately caress and gently protect with an untamed devotion

a Love like this will not to be found
   frantically searching down
    a picked-through Valentine’s aisle.

a Love like this thrives in a divine dimension,
where love is its daily and driving existence.

💗💗💗💗💗💗

My loving verse was written for romantic hearts. 💓 I enjoyed writing about a love that is too busy loving to be bothered with a seasonal holiday aisle – two hearts that thrive in the divine, sparking the birth of stars.💕🌟 Thank you for visiting and reading. Be well.💗 Michele

I love this one so much. ❤️ The words bring love to the forefront and throughout everything. The interconnectedness of love and the place where it is far more powerful than one day a year. I prefer celebrating LOVE every day. Thank you for the beautiful poetry and inspiration. 😊

I especially like this! Reminds me of fireflies. Looking for that specific light to beacon you.

The first time I ever saw one, I was camping in the mountains. And right at nightfall I saw a little tiny light floating around. Then I saw more. Little tiny lights floating everywhere! Then the moon came out. An awesome first experience at seeing them.

I never knew there was a difference between fireflies and lightning bugs. Until that night. Lightning bugs blink. Fireflies don’t. Both are awesome though!

This will be an all time favourite of mine. Bless your heart, Lee.

    1. Ooooh, I love the idea of turning my pen into anything. A magic wand! Presto! I am meeting Miss Poetess in a warm tropical climate for a cold drink and fiery lines! 😁 I am sincerely grateful for your friendship, connection, and poetic inspiration. 💐 A favorite? Yay!! Guess I should write more love poems. 😄 I did enjoy the process. Happy Valentine’s day to you too. Make homemade cards – avoid those Valentine aisles. I am sure you can come up with a few original words. 😂

      1. Oooh la la , I think this is the umpteenth time I am reading your comment. Almost like I am having a real conversation with you. I mean verbal heheh., cold drink and fiery lines from our feisty little poetess Lee.

My mind has a poetry blockage. Unable to process the poet’s block .. may I be inspired here please 🌝💖

      2. That is me when you post a poem… I read and read again. Maybe not a verbal conversation, but meaningful and real. 😊 FLP Lee – I like! Being that it is late there, hopefully you are sleeping through your poet’s block and will wake to a mind bursting with ideas and inspiration. If not, maybe a step outside. Your writings about nature are sublime. Or there is the the subject of Valentine’s… 🤔 I know you will quickly move through it and in no time I will see another of your creations land in my notifications.

  4. I love this powerful writing about what matters, especially during a month when relationships are not only being celebrated but also challenged! Love cannot be put down on paper or given in a bunch of flowers. Love is constant, as your final lines so perfectly express. 🙂 ❤
