Your Morning Glow (audio poem)

Your Morning Glow (audio poem)
Toward you, my eyes are fixed
Toward you, my hands extend
Alone in the dark, I wait, I rest my tired eyes
You change and disappear, but on you, I can always depend
Eyes still closed, but the third one knows –
You have arrived

Many things come between us –
the spin of the earth, the moon, vast lands, expansive oceans
Distance now erased by your nurturing arms
Your touch is light as you gently ascend
You stir birds from their nests and entice protective buds to open
Through tiny fractures and dark thoughts, you find a way in
Your presence can also be consuming and powerful
Cracking frail glass and disturbing sleeping shadows

Now enveloped in your life-giving energy
warming my shivering skin, calming the chatter within
our morning ritual, I am ready to begin
Looking to the horizon, from where you transcend,
I leave behind expectations
stripped of ambitions and bare of questions –
    Who am I?
      Where am I going?
What am I supposed to be?
In this golden moment, these details are of no concern to me

I am here, with you, my glowing one
to bask in the brilliance of your all-knowing magnificence
      to breathe
        to listen
          to allow
            to become
the highest version of myself, yet unknown
while bathing in your ancient wisdom
with you, the rising sun

I begin each day with a sunrise morning meditation. I was inspired to write these lines after yesterday’s time spent outside. Sunrise times change and views never look exactly the same, but one thing remains… when I look across the horizon, there, in its glorious perfection, is the rising sun. This poem personifies the heavenly experience that grounds me, supports me, and transports me. 🧘‍♀️🌞 Thank you for visiting. Be Well. 💖 Michele

    1. It is easy for me to enjoy and speak kind thoughts of the sun this time of year, but when summer hits, my attitude changes. 😆 I do appreciate our life-giving star, but living in the hot southwest means early in the morning is the only time I want to bathe in its warmth. 🌞 Thank you for stopping by and for your kind compliment.

    1. Thank you, Ingrid. I have to be mindful of time, as each day begins a few minutes earlier, for now. It is a lovely way to start the day, and yes when life interrupts my beautiful ritual I feel it. If I miss, I have a second chance… the sunset. 😉 🌄

      1. The color captivates me. The leaves capture the light so beautifully and fortunately it is vibrant all year. It also drops many leaves, which can be a bit messy, but I think it is worth it. I am sure you are aware, there are many colors to choose from. Thanks again. Enjoy your day too. 😄

      2. And thank you Madam Horticulturalist! 😉 The leaf droppings won’t bother me. I have an oak tree in our front yard that challenges my patience every year and I am used to it, although I don’t really enjoy that task! Ugh! But I’m gamed for something different this year aside from my canna lilies, banana trees, roses and mums. Whoo-hooooo!!! 😀

    1. Yes, celebrated star status! 😁 Thank you for that kind compliment, Tanisha. I appreciate your visit and hope that you have been well. I agree! Love the vibrant color of that plant that reminds me of tissue paper. Delicate leaves with stems to be careful with. Ouch! Enjoy yours and your weekend. 😊

  2. Brilliantly beautiful, you scintillate like this aurum star. You personify all that is golden and productive. That in essence is the beauty of your mind that spilled this luminous verse.
I enjoyed this very much. It’s a fitting ode , a tribute to our solar star that rejuvenates life without fail everyday. 💗💓❣️

    1. I am only one, humble and grateful, to receive benefit from our life-giving aurum sun. ☀ The golden one expands my mind and warms my skin, and after this meditative moment, its far-reaching rays did flow from my receiving hand to my offering pen. ✨

Your deLIGHTful words made me think of a quote from The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton~
“Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold.” 😊

      Thank you, radiant one. 🌞

      1. You are the warmth of the sun , you are the pale moon’s sweet delight. You sparkle like the stars ⭐️ and you radiate like Venus in my morning sky . You are the verse sweetest , the poem that your aurum pen spills .

You radiate goodness .. the poetry of your soul is gold goodness.

  3. It is wonderful to bask in the sunshine! We did that this afternoon. It was only around 60 degrees, but the sun was shining and it was a perfectly calm day. We sat on the chairs by the creek and listened to the birds sing. It was great!
    You poem encapsulates it all!

  4. Living where you are, the morning sunrise must indeed be a glow! I miss the sunrises sometimes living where I do surrounded by trees, but it is possible to find the sunshine most especially inside myself and feel that glow.
I love that this poem tells your early morning mediation story so beautifully!

    1. It certainly is, Jaya. 🌞 Trees are a beautiful blessing too. 🥰 Looking at the sunrise through or near a tree is the best of both worlds. I am enjoying the bursting spring leaves on my tree, each morning. With the stillness and slowing down that accompanies meditation, comes the ability to notice more. 💖 Thank you for your visit. I look forward to your next publication! 😀

    1. A serene moment, yes.💖 With the sunrise getting earlier and earlier it is getting more challenging to rise before her. 😂 It is worth it though. Thank you for listening and commenting. I appreciate it. 🙏🏻

      1. No problem! It happens. Sometimes it is word press’s fault! The street was a tongue twister and a tough spell at first. But, after spelling it for everyone who asks our address we soon learned!
