Contained in a Frame

Captured and contained in this frame, are delicate petals, crowning thorny stems, set against a shadowy tree-laced sky. At first glance, I saw the natural beauty for what it is: magnificence. Eyes full of wonder, I startled a bird with my audible sigh. Despite my praising of nature’s perfection, shortsighted was my thinking, for the bigger picture, I almost missed.

More time to focus and take it all in; a new picture emerged: all of humanity contained in this frame. Like delicate petals, individuals, no matter how insecure or shy, need to be seen as they attempt to bloom, and they must be in balance with their environment if they are to thrive. To display their full natural beauty is how the egoless species survives. Like flowers, humans are a blend of fragile and strong and welcoming and defensive. Maybe inferior without our human minds, but flowers are connected to an intelligence that is most divine. Perfectly refined is the process of a tiny seed to the grand majestic. Never does a flower stop and question its worth. Never does a flower hide its fragrant scent to appease another’s temperament. Never does a flower choose to wither and die so another can take its sunshine.

Be brilliant. Be a flower.

Thank you for visiting and reading my musings about Divine creations: flowers and humans. At the end of my desert stroll, I turned off my camera, thinking I was done, then I looked up and there was the frame that took my breath away and left my mind engaged (photo 1). Be well. 💗 Michele

A special thank you to editor, J Re Crivello with Masticadores, for publishing my Valentine vignettes. 💘

We miss so much if we don’t climb out of the frame to see, and experience, the larger world around us. Wonderful snippet from the frame. Beautiful photos. Congratulations on Valentine Vignettes.

    1. I am pleased my musings resonated with you. Thank you very much. I like that truth too. For all of our human intelligence, we sometimes fail to see within ourselves, what nature so beautifully and unapologetically displays. ✨

  2. You are a flower of great natural beauty, Michele, both as a Desert Rose of Arizona and/or Magnolia of South Carolina. And, you take a fine photograph, that of which is “Contained in a Frame”, and in the smile of your new profile picture! Before I get into trouble, may I add that I enjoyed your insightful writing & wish for you a great weekend, my friend. 🌞🌹

  4. I love your reflection on what led to this wonderful snapshot so much! Often we begin where we think the journey ends. When we are not trying to attain something, coming by attainment is much easier because our unconscious quietly leads the way and intuitively follows the right path. 🙂

  5. Deeply beautiful prose, Michele. I love every line you’ve created, and this one is my favorite. “ but flowers are connected to an intelligence that is most divine.” How beautifully true. Pic is also amazingness. 💖🌸🌹🌺

    1. Thank you very much, Jeff. It was a late night write, and a deeply reflective one at that. 🥰 Thanks for sharing your favorite line. I love the contrast in that photo. The tree in the background is a mesquite tree. 🌳💖

  6. I have a congenital “defect” – when I read words they creates images in my head, when I see images they create words in my head.
That’s how I feel about your pictures and words too – by the way also about your talented daughter who you drew my attention to. 🙂

    1. That sounds like how it should be, a gift, not a defect. 🙂 How wonderful that my words and pictures have that effect on you and that you know and appreciate my daughter’s artistic talent. Thank you so much, LDN. 🙏🏻🌞

  9. You are of a brilliant flower 🌸, dear Michele! These lines are beautifully and masterfully penned. And yes, if only we can connect to our flower essence, life would be like the spring garden and a cup of jasmine tea 🍵 ready for our appreciation every moment of the day….

Thank you for sharing this wisdom !!💗🎈🎊😃

  10. Oh my dancing queen, this beautiful reflection is so precious. Loved this Michele:

I simply love your flow and connectedness to what flowers and humans embody and have in common. Flowers only worry about what they are and what they do. Flowers do not get caught up into the nonsense of whether the tulip is prettier than the rose, or the gladiola is stronger than the hibiscus. They simply bloom where they are planted. 🏵🌹🌼💐🌺🌻🌷 This is such a wonderful and poignant reflection my sweet friend!!! 💃🏼🎶💃🏽
