Becoming You (video poem)

My video poem, “Becoming You,” is dedicated to young adults just starting their adult journey. If that person is you, best wishes on your life path: may you become all that you aspire to be. ✨ Note: My list of what “you may become” is long, but not exhaustive. Well, maybe a bit exhaustive. πŸ˜… Although my poem is not intended to be a list of every possible profession, I would like to acknowledge those working in the medical field and first responders: two professions not directly referenced in my poem but deserving of stand-alone recognition. πŸ™πŸ»

Thank you for visiting and listening. Be well. πŸ’— Michele

  4. It is impossible to speak of every profession in a poem, so I love the way your poem does not try too hard to encompass every road a person might follow! There is room to breathe and branch out onto the paths and streets our inner compasses guide us down. πŸ™‚

    1. What a wonderful understanding of the intention of my poem. Some specifics and some generality in those lists. It was a free flow of thoughts for each set of lists. I don’t usually write lists in poetry, or other writing to that extent. It was an interesting writing activity. Thank you kindly, writer Jaya. 🌻

    1. A powerful theme you have highlighted. “everything we need is within us” A lesson that can take a lifetime to learn. Maybe the younger generation is more aware of this truth. So many directions one can go in life. An interesting journey, for each of us. One simple, choice can alter our course. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and further developing one of the themes. I value your feedback. πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒŸ

  6. It’s a stunning poem, Michele, and so beautifully presented here. The lines about ‘impostor syndrome’ ring true for me, as I definitely have days like this: when I question all of my achievements. Just beautiful, from start to finish!

  7. This is such beautifully and finely crafted poem Michele. It is not merely a list of professions but a deeply thoughtful layering of wisdom and truths about indvidual Becoming – you validate so many versions of that, that may not fall under a profession but are still of so much value in the fabric of our existence.

    1. Thank you very much, kind Cindy, for viewing my post and for leaving your valued feedback. I am grateful. πŸ™πŸ» Trusting the process is golden and a mindset that makes all the difference. A concept I did not understand when I was a youngin. Now I know, but I still have to remind myself of this when I am in the thick of it. πŸ™‚ Leaving behind a Legacy of Love is a beautiful thought. πŸ’– I don’t think it gets better than that. 😊 Cheers! πŸ₯‚ Enjoy your weekend!
