Like many people, my love affair with words and stories began with picture books. An adoration that has never left me. I am grateful to my mom for reading to me and my brother before we started kindergarten and to my first-grade teacher for calling on me, frequently, to read aloud during story time. Those early experiences helped to fuel a passion in me for story reading and telling. A fire that continues to burn bright. A passion I am honored to share with others.

Books make great gifts to give and get, any time of year. If I get one, I must also give because I have run out of book room! This lovely gem was gifted to me last year, by my colleague, Sandra Marinella. Now felt like the perfect time to share it. Enjoy!

  9. This is wonderful, I love words and books. I was waiting for my car to be repaired the other day. I took a book with me to read while I waited. A man that was also waiting could not believe I had a book ! He said to me that it had been a long time since he had seen someone with a book and not a cell phone lol He couldn’t seem to get over it haha

  12. I always read to my kids. every night we had a bedtime story. Once my son reached Grade 2 he read himself. I will never forget that one night he jumped into bed with a copy of Dickens Christmas Carol. He said :”I’ve been waiting to read this and now I’m going to start. ” He had a huge smile on his face! Thank you for the video of you reading that delightful book.

  14. Oh I love this Michele and I can see what a great teacher you were. I’m going to share this with our Spiritual Rap leader. I’m teaching Qui Gong at our Star retreat and she always opens with a children’s book. She might just love it. Lovely hearing you read and have a blast at your dreamy retreat!

  19. I think it’s extremely important that children are shown how beautiful books are. My mother had read the most beautiful children’s books to me and my little sister. I always found it so exciting and was so enthusiastic that I really wanted to learn to read.
