Intersection of three passions

When a hummingbird buzzed near my ear, making my hair lift during my morning meditation in the desert, I had a feeling I might be in for a special day. I was correct. I joined ten other women at a trailhead outside of Tucson yesterday morning. We hiked our way to a beautiful destination, then spent the day unfolding a retreat titled, “Moving through Our Stories.” The “moving” included dancing, writing, and exploring the natural surroundings. A merging of three passions for me.

This was not my usual dancing tribe of fourteen years, and how I ended up at this retreat is a long, serendipitous story, but I will mention that the dance form was Bollywood and the strangers that I met in the parking lot earlier in the day had become my friends by sunset. When your heart and mind are open to new experiences, it is amazing how the universe offers them up. ✨

The retreat had ended. The participants had departed. I enjoyed one more journey to the center while the sun was disappearing behind the mountain. 💖🌄

If you missed my reading of a delightful children’s story, visit my post, “Story time (video).” Thank you for visiting. Be well. 💗 Michele

Photo note: I do not share dance photos out of respect and privacy for others, plus I am busy dancing! 💃🏻 images are mine

      1. A treat for you, and a retreat for us. Oh, wait. Two treats for us, and…hmm. 🤔 Bottomline: that which elevates the spirit of a lovely Arizonian poetess and dancer adds light for followers to delight in your energy and insight. 🙏🏻 Yes, that’s it!

Lovely post. I was going to build a labyrinth on the east side of the property. Laurie didn’t like my idea, so I cut a labyrinth in our giant black bamboo patch. It’s magical.

  3. OMG, what an amazing retreat Michele. 😊 Talk about embracing the elements of the universe. 🪐 And you mean to tell me that a 7-circuit labyrinth was part of the package too? Girl, I miss walking through a labyrinth. It is so therapeutic. The first time I walked through one, I didn’t really know what to expect. I was invited to walk through it and oh my, what an emotional experience I had. The first time I walked through one was when my mother passed away 19 years ago. Oh my goodness, what an amazing experience I can’t forget. I am so impressed by you taking frequent retreats…sounds like the elixir of life my friend! 😘🙏🏼😊

Enjoy my dancing queen. 💃🏼🎶🥰 Have a FANtabulous and FUNalicious week ahead Queen Teacher! Hugs and smooches! 🥳🦋😁

    1. It was a special day. Everything came together so perfectly and magically. Your first labyrinth experience must have been quite emotional. 💞 Great symbolism walking the spiral. It’s good to break up the routine whenever we can. Right? 😊 It’s also a beautiful time of the year to be out, enjoying nature. Thank you, Kymbelina. WIshing you the same. 😊🤗💖

    1. It did feel like a special opportunity when it was presented to me. I hope that you are able to find and attend an event that speaks to you. Goals for 2023! 😊 I was happy to share – thank you for enjoying. 🙏🏻 Hummingbird hellos are special. That visit was remarkable! Although my eyes were closed, I recognized the sound. Then it is a matter of staying still and enjoying the moment. 🥰

    1. I am grateful. Thank you so much, Cheryl. I am glad you found comfort during a most difficult time. The journey through the spiral was quite moving for each of us. I have walked labyrinths before but never in a group setting. We went one at a time, but I believe being together amplified the energy, the experience. 💞

It is the most amazing thing! When I moved to Tucson, my sister-in-law told me about it. Never having experienced something like that before I was expecting a conference hall, but not expecting a greater part of the city to be involved!
