Closer to the Sun

Petals, stems, and hair
whipped by the wind

Rooted beliefs and thoughts
twirl and toss
becoming a new language
when blended with the ancient

Protected knowledge penetrates
skin, blood, and bones
creating shivers and swells

Wings yet to be given
this is the final ascent

Secrets decoded
confusion quells
when the wind calms
and the view expands

Wings yet to be given
it is time to descend

If you’ve been reading me for a while you know how much I enjoy highlighting independent artists, in all the wonderful ways they express themselves. I have the great privilege of featuring a creative collage artist, who is also a thought-provoking writer and poet who takes incredible bird photos. Multi-talented she is! I’ve been enjoying her work since the beginning of my blog journey and now I have the joy of showcasing her work in my office. πŸ’œπŸŒ΅ Visit The Used Life, to enjoy more!

Speaking of “spotlight” ~ a special shoutout to David @ The Skeptics Kaddish for sharing my post, “Strolling through a Poem.” πŸŒŠβœπŸ»πŸ“·πŸ’ž

Thank you for visiting and reading. Happy Spring! πŸŒ„ Michele

    1. Thanks so much, Samantha! It is spectacular to see a large plot of land covered in cacti- best observed from an elevated distance. πŸ˜πŸ“·πŸœοΈ A trip west is a grand idea!

      3. It’s (a) good πŸ™Œ (one), making two! πŸ˜† I’d better stop, say that I’m through, as any more may seem askew. Unless, of course, you’d like to play, to which I say please have your way. If not, I know that I should go, the time is getting late. Our chat, herein, has brought a grin…Michele, I think you’re great! Thanks for sharing, my friend. 🌞🌹

  6. Your words flow so gracefully with wonderful imagery, Michele, and your photos are stunning. I love those Cacti. Not something we see in No. Calif. After reading your poem a second time, I got goosebumps. And I love the collage art you shared. Gorgeous! πŸ’ž
